A LITTLE BACKGROUND
Turning a Dream into Reality
As a child my Grandmother Ruth was my hero. Her warm, colourful personality and artistic flair was truly inspirational. She had a knack for creative writing and I’d like to think I followed in her footsteps, despite the shoes being big ones to fill.
Upon graduating with a diploma in COMMUNICATION ARTS, I began my career as a photojournalist for a small town weekly newspaper. The days of loading the ol’ Pentax camera with a roll of film and mixing darkroom chemicals came to a screeching halt and I remember being armed with a brand new digital camera not long after I started the job.
After four years of amazing experiences, covering beats and meeting extraordinary people, I pursued a job in communications and since then I have accumulated over 15 years experience in the field of marketing for post secondary institutions, government, engineering and oil companies.
I take pride in creating, developing, and implementing marketing, communication and graphic design solutions for all of my clients, and I am truly grateful to be doing what I love.

LATEST DESIGN SOFTWARE
I have studied and completed courses and ongoing training in the latest design software programs and am equipped with the most up-to-date versions of the Adobe Creative Suite - which includes: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
COMMUNICATION ARTS DIPLOMA
In the Communication Arts, I studied the art of human communication in an ever-changing technological society. Communication arts broadly includes studies and professions that deal with graphic and visual design such as graphic design, graphic arts, art direction, corporate design and other areas.
The program focused on print journalism, advertising, public relations, media relations, feature writing and radio and graphic design. Part of the graphic design courses included learning the Adobe Creative Suite working with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop which is industry standard leading software.
Over the years I have had to keep up with the latest trends in the field, which has served as an inspiration and motivation to continually be creative and innovative in the world of marketing.
